Headlines – The Business

The salon that became Headlines was established in 1971 by Ron Powell, who died in March 2010. Ron’s contribution to the art and science of hairdressing made him a local legend in the industry – Headlines was the first salon to cater for both men and women, and offered the first blow waver in the district. The introduction of overseas techniques provided clients with cutting and colouring options to enhance any individual style.

Ron’s standards of personalised service, expert advice and attention to detail made Headlines an industry leader and will endure. Ron’s partner in business and life, Robyn Banks, took over leading the team in recent years and continues to do so. Long established as a highly regarded hairdresser, she is ably supported by a skilled and motivated team who are proud to carry on Ron’s legacy of professionalism, creative style and innovation.
