Kate

Kate grew up in Australia, and moved to NZ when she was a teenager. While in Aussie, Kate had helped out for a week in a hair salon as work experience; and she loved it, so when she moved to Whangarei, she wasted no time in gaining herself an apprenticeship at Headlines, and so started her exceptional career.

24 years later, she’s still going strong. Probably owing to her passion for hairdressing, Kate has a string of awards behind her, including this year’s regional NZ Association of Registered Hairdressers Photographic Award.

Amy

Amy is Headlines latest apprentice, having completed a pre-trade course through the Northland Training Centre in 2008.

She has always wanted to work as a hair stylist and enjoys making people happy, something she believes is what makes a great hair stylist. She finds “hair-up’s” for special occasion looks her favourite part of the job as she can contribute to the way someone looks and feels at a very special time in their lives.
